A linear solenoid has three important characteristics: stroke, force and duty cycle.
Stroke is the distance the armature moves.
Force can be defined as the force available at the start of movement starts,
at the completion of the movement or over the entire movement.
Force is less at the beginning of the movement.
The Duty Cycle is expressed as a percentage representing the proportion of
switch-on time to total operational cycle time.
Example: 5 % duty cycle means the solenoid is switched on for 5 seconds and
switched off for 95 seconds.
