Solenoid Assistant

Solenoid Assistant > Linear Solenoids > Single Acting

A linear solenoid has three important characteristics: stroke, force and duty cycle.

Stroke is the distance the armature moves.
Force can be defined as the force at thge start of movement, at the completion of the movement or over the entire movement. Force is less at the beginning of the movement.
The Duty Cycle is expressed as a percentage representing the proportion of switch-on time to total operational cycle time.
Example: 5 % duty cycle means the solenoid is switched on for 5 seconds and switched off for 95 seconds.

Standard Linear Solenoids from Kuhnke:

Stroke < 2mm Force < 2N - MM Series
Stroke < 5mm Force < 15N - HL/HM/HU/H/V & RM Series
Stroke < 10mm Force < 20N - H/V & RM Series
Stroke < 20mm Force < 20N - HL/H & RM Series
Stroke < 35mm Force < 35N - HL & RM Series
