Holding solenoids are solenoids without moving parts; upon energising, they attract any ferromagnetic material which is kept in place while powered, then released upon de-energising.
They are used for manipulating items into place to ensure correct location, on conveyor lines, or for pick and place machines that require a quick, reliable and robust response upon a given signal. Compact by design, they are often used within security or safety applications, for example, door holding or entry systems.
Due to the device having no moving parts, holding solenoids are suited to applications where a fast repetitive operation is required.
There are seven body sizes to choose from; the largest achieves up to 1,400N of holding force. Standard voltage is 24V DC with flying leads; other voltages and connections are also available, please call us for further details. Visit our online shop for stock and pricing information.
